As a former English teacher and high school principal, I have come across many good reads and helpful resources over the years. The books and resources below come from many "recommended" reading lists, summer reading lists or book clubs, and resources that have been recommended to me by colleagues or counselors. Some of the books you will find helpful in preparing for the SAT, the ACT, or AP exams.
You should not read all of them. Some are listed purely for enjoyment, while others are listed for you to use in your college search and future planning.
Almost all of these books are available at any online bookstore, retail bookstore, or library. If you click on the title of the book, you will be taken to a link at the Barnes & Noble Web site which will give you a short synopsis of the book and pricing information. (LINKS ARE CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION).
No matter what, they are all "good" reads. As Peter Connelly, my favorite English professor at Grinnell College said, "You can only read a book for the first time once! So savor the experience!"
